Cast arms are £100/120 used, and will need new bushes.

"Defcon" inserts/bushes are what you need.

Oh yes.

Don't bother with polybushes in the rears, they seem to just tear or misshape and be poop. Well mine have anyway.

Yep, track car ahoy. Live 0.8 miles from work, don't pay any bills. :)

Can you post pics of the Brembos for me once you get to the flat? Thanks bro. Xxx

This site is where Prawn gets most of his Mk4 porn from.

I could spend thousands in there. Have a look around, if URST list it then you want it. :)

Or look at using these -

Haha, cheers. Shall take a look at the site and will grab you some snaps when I'm back in town again (Y)

Also; Just tried logging via VCDS for the first time. I'm going to have to play around with cracks again as it threw a bit of a hissy fit and wouldn't let me log anything past Block 020 which means no boost readings etc but enabled me to get an idea of how it works and pulled general MAF readings etc which are consistent with everything I've logged through DashCommand before (Y)

Not too shabby for a mechanically standard, 10 year old 5-door family hatch!

I got it! Yayyyy PD130

Has a few little niggles and a few scrapes but nothing that won't machine polish out. I managed to knock him down £400 off the price as its rattling a little bit, I think an engine mount is going and its hitting something but i'm really happy. Pulls amazing

Hey all , been absolutely ages since I've been on here, anyway rolled my s2000 twice 1 week after I spent 2k on it buying brand new semi slicks , wheels, toe arms and proper setup ready for 2013 track days.

The next day I was having a 1.6 diesel of some sort... The day after that I was having a fast car again... Oops , anyway I was set on a 350z , soon after I had sold everything that was sellable and I had saved abit I drove a 300bhp 350z , it was ok but I didn't get much of a kick off it. Slightly gutted that they wasn't what I rememberd when I first passed my driving test my mate Paul Seddon talked me into looking at a r33 skyline,to be honest I wasn't keen on the idea. But the I drove one and that was it, my heart was set .

Few weeks later i brought this

Had it mapped to 375bhp , should be 400bhp in november when I get a different actuator as mine was too weak .

Love the damn thing so much, so much fun !

Got into drifting done a fair few drift days now, so much more controllable than the s2k

Will post some pics of the accident when I go on my laptop

Gave the Aston back today, and am now on an absolute mission to own something similar.

If you have the chance to borrow something truly great in that sense (and I know it's not for everyone) I'd probably say don't, unless you happen to have the cash to buy something similar. My time with that has absolutely ruined the BMW for me. I'm thinking 911 GT3 as something similar to aim for, but it's a while off!

I can't compete with an R33, but a few vaguely interesting things have been happening / will be happening with the old brick.

Panhard rod now has poly bushes, so the rear end is a bit more stable. I also have poly bushes for the torque rods, but haven't plucked up the courage to tackle them yet.

Did the 940/740 "camber mod" for the front wheels, so now the front end feels well planted in corners. Need to correct the toe now though.

Picked up some chips to adjust the spark and fuel maps (not yet fitted), bought a bigger turbo (not yet fitted), and got a more aggressive camshaft, which I managed to install today.

Haven't tried the car with new cam yet, I'm a bit scared as I don't trust my dad's old torque wrench. I was also being eaten alive by midges so didn't finish tensioning the belts. Distributor seems to have some wear, so I think I need to make that the next job.

I love cable ties. I also love those telescopic magnetic things that save your life when you drop a nut or bolt somewhere awkward.

MOT Tuesday, and a great deal of things stopped working properly today. Will I get the car ready in time? Probably not...

EDIT: Well at least my car runs properly now, bloody ignition timing was out as a the bolt was loose that clamps the dizzy down!

Now's the time to buy a gt3 really. My old boss/mate just sold his and took a massive loss on it (he sold it to a Porsche dealer, they told him all about how it'll only go up in value in 5-8 years, so there just gonna keep it in the showroom till it's gained value. He was distraught ), there gonna get more and more a collector's item soon. Shame he sold it really, I loved that thing :(

Yea I've heard of them being a future classic which is definitely a factor in wanting one - itd be nice to make money on a car for once!

There's just the little issue of the £45k I don't have... Minor issue!

Good choice ;)

Being a 52 plate I'm guessing it has a 6 dials though? Get yourself on SCN and IOC, you'll be able to find the fix for it when it goes weird.

Now get it remapped - best money I've ever spent on a car

What's a 6 dials?!

Got it, 6 dial dash. Yes it has! Stumbled on your thread accidently the other day on iboc!

Sorry didn't mean to put the 'a' in there!

Yeah? Not updated that in a long time! Anyway, enjoy your car! Any questions give me a shout - chances are I've fiddled/got someone else to do it! Haha :)

I miss cleaning my EGR and inlet every month on my Saab, or not.

Just done a bitch ton of jobs on the Porsche for the MOT tomorrow...yet the list is still huge... ARGH! It will be a long night :(

On the plus side the underneath is all nicely undersealed now along with the freshly refurbished front suspension, it looks pretty, maybe that'll be enough to impress them and distract from the rest thats falling apart?

For the MOT:

Does the fuel filler cap have to actually lock? Mine threads and secures but cannot be locked

My windscreen washers take about 2 seconds to actually get fluid to the screen, is that still a pass?

Does my car need a cup holder?

All they're looking for is there to be a seal to prevent fuel coming out.

As long as fluid goes onto the screen and clears it then its fine
