Matt24.
I would like to disconnect my hope hose run through steerer and reconnect however clearly the metal connectors will need to come off to get it through however as I have only ever experienced maggies, are the connectors re-usable with the hose or will i need a new hose or connectors or both, The hope bleed kit seems immensely expensive, has anyone bled these with the car/ motorbike method of topping up resevoir and pumping etc? JD™
You can definitely re-use all the bits associated with the hosing. My bleed kit for my Hopes consists of a bit of plastic tubing to attached to the bleed nipple, then the process is exactly as you described - didn't know there was another way... Then again, I had to get Ali to do mine because I wasn't able to get a decent bleed on my discs.
Matt24.
Haha well, the kit on tartybikes is some crazy contraption looks like that connects to your tube to use air to bleed it? I am going to stick with a home made kit probably buy a new piece of hose and use original connectors.......
Mark W
That's a Magura bleed kit.
Matt24.
My apologies I didn't see it on tarty bikes it was crc. To the question Mark, would you advise replacing hose or would it be ok to just undo connectors re-use and get some fluid from you guys to bleed. Mark W
You shooould be able to re-use them if you're careful. For the hose length it kinda depends really, I think a lot of the time you'll probably need a touch more hose than a standard front to get it to work properly.
