AndrewEH1
What exericses can I do off my bike to improve my fitness and stamina. Bascially I want to start entering Enduro's and other races for fun, but my main 'fear' is that I will be embarrassing slow. I'm reasonably fit I just want to get stronger, and faster. I don't really want to do heavy weights or anything silly like that - just lose excess weight, improve CV and 'tone up' a little. I'm thinking that hitting the CV machines at the gym is a good idea, maybe do 'Spinning' classes, and do more running. Am I along the right lines? Obviously diet will effect things, I am being much better than I used to be. Any ideas about the things I might want to eat more of, or downright avoid? Before anyone says just go out and ride - I do that, I want to get fitter quicker by going to the gym in addition to what I already do. Matt24
Get yourself on a rowing machine or buy one rather than expensive gym memberships can pick a reasonable one on ebay for a lot cheaper than a gym membership and it will last longer and if you get bored or fed up of trying to get fitter your not stuck with something you can't cancel but can sell, it will do all of the above, will be torture at first but very much worth it........ 1337 Trials
Ive been a weight lifter for 6 years and weights is one of the best ways to tone up! More muscle means the food you eat gets used instead of stored as fat!
