Here's my homemade truing stand might give you some ideas http://www.facebook....66825506&type=3 :)

wont let me view it :/.

yeah im gonna do a cone shaped dropout.

im looking at instead of some highly adjustabe thing where i would need to measure the hub spacing and rim width etc to figure out where the rim should be centrered, im going to have 2 solid poles acting like forks, then different adaptors so i can true front, rear 135mm and rear mod rims, and the centre point for the rim will never have to be adjusted, if that makes sence?

ill let you know how i get on soon ish.

I'd be tempted to copy the way that proper truing stands normally work. They tend to have a pair of arms/forks that adjust together evenly by pivoting at the bottom, and being adjusted by a bar with opposing threads on it that's held still. That way the centre stays as the centre whatever width it's set at, and you can hold the wheel in by tightening the legs against it, rather than needing to use the bolts/quick release, which lets you do bolt through wheels. They normally use V shaped dropouts allowing any diameter of axle.
