Sam Song
I'm building a Hex right now, and I can't decide what tires I should go for. I realize a lot of people use holy rollers for street trials, but it weighs in at 800 grams?? Even though it is 'street trials' I will still gap to sharp concrete ledges, and I know any sub 1000 grams tire will be absolute shit for pinch flats. Although I do like the tread pattern and the durometer on holy roller. One other option would be Larsen double ply http://www.tartybike...tt/c33p274.html but it is 2.35 sizing What kind of option do I have if I want thick sidewall but the tread pattern of a holy roller? N.Wood
Whats wrong with 2.35 size?
Ali C
if you run harder than normal trials pressure, punctures are not so bad. I run around 40psi and only get punctures if I really mess up. Having a heavier tyre on the rear upsets the balance of the bike too in my opinion.

Duncy H
I've got a hex running with 2.4 holly rollers. I run 35psi with a downhill tube, I got a puncture for the first time the other day in a long long time. And that was because I had a really bad landing after a gap. Also the larsen is only 4mm less on the width of the tyre, that really enough to make a noticeable difference? It depends on what sort of pressures you intend on running in my opinion. CalopS
50 psi = no problem....... =p EDIT: Get Schwalbe downhill tubes. There a nice inbertween thinkness/weight compared to the Maxxis downhill tube. Edited April 25, 2012 by CalopS
