isitafox
I'm confused by the question. How would you take them off normally??
koxx1
bb normaly have a splined tool but the echo bb that i have just has bearings where the bb threaded cups would normaly be and the freewheel would normaly have a 4 pronged tool that slots in and undoes with a spanner (i think) i've tried using a chain whip but i think thats just making it tighter
isitafox
Is the BB a press in spanish style one by any chance? I doubt you'd have much luck selling one on to be honest. As for the FFW your probably best posting a pic so we can see what you need!
N.Wood
BB wise you'd have to knock out each bearing. tapping the end of the axle should push out one bearing and the axle, then use a suitably sized socket or something to knock out the other from the inside out. Look on tarty for how to remove a freewheel.
koxx1
Yes it is and i've had a fair few offers already its the echo urban ISIS one that only fits the new echo and zoo frames (according to tarty bikes) BB wise you'd have to knock out each bearing. tapping the end of the axle should push out one bearing and the axle, then use a suitably sized socket or something to knock out the other from the inside out. Look on tarty for how to remove a freewheel. Ok that was helpfull thankyou. I didn't want to go banging away at it without being sure. as for the free wheel i think ill take a trip to my local bike shop and use one of their tools. cheers
AndrewEH1
If you are selling the frame you may aswell sell the BB with it as the press fit BB are only suitable on the Echo and a few of the ZOO frames. As far as I know you can not use a chain whip to remove a freewheel, you can only use one to fit a freewheel. Check out http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/media/guides/maintenance_freewheel_and_sprocket_removal/m1.html on how to remove your freewheel, you may need to buy another tool to take it off. If you still have issues try your LBS.
Mark W
Local bike shops generally do it wrong - your best bet would be to check out that video guide linked there, then try and copy that at your LBS (or just get them to copy it or something). We've had quite a few cranks with a freewheel on sent to us because a LBS "couldn't remove it", and they've come off easily every time using our normal method. ogre
the bbis specific for those frames, so pairing it with the frame when you sell it is probably a smart move...
koxx1
as for the bb i think i wil leave it in when i sell the frame. I only wanted to visit my LBS to borrow a freewheel tool wouldnt let them touch any bike of mine haha
