Greetings
Ok I've often come across this problem but don't know how to deal with it properly. When truing the wheel vertically the left and right sidewall often run independently. You'll get one side perfectly round only to find that the other one has a lot of bumps even though the spoke tension is fairly even. This is especially problematic with very light rims or ones with no stiffness whatsoever - usually front ones. I find that trying to get the other sidewall right often distorts the one you've just finished doing. Is there a method to get both sidewalls even other than just endlessly flipping the wheel over? I'm not talking about rims with a big spoke offset here, just the normal stuff.
stunt man t
take it apart, turn every nipple the same turns all the way round and it should be fine?
Matt Vandart
Its almost impossible to equaly tension a trials rim, probably the closest I have come to equal tension is with rear TR rims
Maxx
Because trial rims are poor made. The same thing with lateral errors : you can perfectly laterally true a side, the other side will be not as true as the precedent.

Ali C
tough luck I'm afraid, get one side straight then don't look at the other, I find that normally works
