Dave Anscombe
Yoooo Guys Its seems that i have a problem with my front magura! ive bled the brake several times underwater so i doubt verry much any air is trapped in the system! the cylinder in the lever is verry slow on the come back so slow that when you pull the brake all the way the lever actually just flops around! and the cylinder does NOT come all the way back out! ive taken it all appart and cleaned it with some fairy liquid and flushed it out ! my nefew is itching to ride and id just like to sort the problem out for him when i pull the lever the two caliper cylinders stick out 5 mm while the lever cylinder slowly come back up But not all the way! Revolver
The piston in the lever is probably swollen.
err
sounds like a swollen lever piston to me, take the piston out and remove the seals and o rings, then give it a light sanding, then reassemble. should do the trick EDIT: too slow again lol DOUBLE EDIT: tartys sell an echo piston which fits if the sanding fails Edited April 12, 2012 by err

Did you lube the piston after cleaning? Also, isn´t the bolt which hold lever in place too tight?
SamKidney
I give the piston and cylinder a light smear with vaseline before reassembly. Keeps everything sweet and stick free Ive found. Been running mine like this for 4 months now with zero issues
dann2707
Same thing happened to me when I realised water bleeds messed up my maggy. You pull it and it started to return alot slower (defeating the object of having a water bleed in the first place...), water will have swolen the piston, the O-ring will be fine. Might be worth it to remove the piston and stick it in the oven for a bit to remove the absorbed water. However I have absolutely NO idea how long it would require before it melts. TommyBrew
It definately, wouldn't melt in the oven. So yeah, Light sanding and a spot of Vaseline on the piston has been tried and tested
