Duncy H
Rightio I'm fed up of my trialtech sprung tensioner rattling around so I wanna use a spoke tensioner. I am running a hex frame with a king hub in so it is quite tight for space between the dropouts. I am running 18:15 gear ratio and I reckon with a half link it would be quite tight but need tightening up with a spoke slightly. (bit wary of half links though) So yeh, any tips?? cai
Bend the tip of the spoke upwards so there's no danger of it getting stuck in your chain. Also make sure you coil the spoke around a bolt or around the axle at least a couple of times, this gives the tensioner a really good spring effect
CalopS
Don't use a half link and just use a spoke tensioner? Not sure how you would fit one though having the hex without using a drill. Its easy on the old foreplays because the dropouts are full of holes
Duncy H
Righ I've got a half link on now and the tension wants tightening up with a spoke, I've put a small washer between the frame and the king to give a bit more room but my attempts to make a decent spoke tensioner have been pants, anyone got some tips??
