Quick Pedal Up Question

ooo

Recommended Posts

Im learning the 3/4 stroke (is that what its called) pedal pattern so I can pedal up, But I just wanted to clarify something. On the first half turn from your bad foot I gain quite a bit of speed so this means I have to kick my good foot super hard, right ? What Im trying to say is that the pedal strokes aren't even its normal then super hard while jumping ?

I hope that makes sense...

Pretty much. I do it that way and the first half pedal stroke I'm just using the pedals to bring the front up while not gaining too much speed. The final 1/4 or even less is the bit that gives you all the explosive power to push the bike up and gain the height.

Edit: Check out 3:39- this is the vid that taught me the technique which I still use to good effect 10 years on.

Ah wicked mate, I was just using the first half to gain speed, but if I use it to bring the front up to my normal pedal kick height it makes a bit more sense.

Yeah, I go in really slow and all the acceleration happens at the last minute. Seems to work pretty well! That vid covers the essentials though (Y).

lol, video is oldskool but very useful, cheers for your help mate.
