RossMcd
Right guys, My back has just given up the ghost while riding tonight. I was riding for about an hour and all I felt was a pop and my lower back is now in agony. My 20 minute walk home has taken me an hour so far. (not yet home. Lying down on my back as we speak.) I'm really struggling to walk. Has anyone else had this happen before? And is there any excersizes that will cure this? I previously took a 6 month break from riding as advised by my chiropractor. My last appointment about 2 weeks ago he told me I should be fine to jump back on the bike. A week of riding again and it's gone again. I have been doing warm up stretches and warm down stretches before and after every ride but it's obviously done no good. Does anyone have any advise for me? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Rebelistic
Sorry to hear of your troubles. Personally I'd go to a doctor or hospital, not a chiropractor. Hopefully they can refer you to a sports physiotherapist. AFAIK chiropractors arn't really regulated, I'm a bit skeptical of them.

Matthew_Gibson
do you warm up before after a ride? might sound daft but I started back at rugby about 4 months ago after having a 2/3 year "break" I just went into a game with out warming up and pulled my groin, I cudnt walk. now I make sure to stretch before every game and training. Try this: or would that be hard with the back the way it is?
hI-OOPS-CAPS
hmm, I did a hop onto a wall and did quite bad damage to my lower back. I could only drive with frozen peas in my car. Some strong anti-inflammatories did the trick. A doc might tell you iboprofen is fine but you can say they just dont cut it..
