dangerous bry
Has anybody had trouble with this freewheel? I'm really disatisfied with the product, I've already had the freewheel replaced twice by rock n roll bikes in short periods. And its the same problem everytime, the pawls just keep snapping, and its happend again tonight after four days use. Ive been bedding them in with gt85 1st before any trials use as well and the freewheel always feels and sounds great, next minute bang it'll start crunching or even lock up. I've try'd getting a refund but they just insist on sending me a new one, if they do send me another one it'll be the fourth one I've had but I wouldn't want to use it after all the previous inconveinience I've had. God knows what to do??

isitafox
Never had a 96 but my old 60 ran for over a year for me after I'd bought it 2nd hand with 2 mashed springs i bent back into shape an never skipped on me once. Not sure if this helps but thats my experience with them!
Luke Rainbird
Some freewheels benefit from a period of bedding in through non-trials use first. Probably worth doing since it doesn't seem this is the case at the mo and you're having some pretty brutal issues. Are you a particularly harsh rider/do you stamp like a motherf**ker? Sounds like you might benefit from learning to preload/smoothing things out a bit.
dangerous bry
The 1st and 3rd one broke with very little trials use, and I'm not a harsh rider. The second one I had gave way from just rolling down a steep hill. I had a tensile 60 click on my old bike and didn't have any issues with that. Azarathal
My tensile 96 was about 2years old, I'd replaced the set of pawls once over that time but the springs were almost worn through and were over stretched to f**k. I know it was bedded in with about 2hours non-trials use before it was used to trials at all. It finally exploded when about 3 of the springs snapped at once, still got my fair use out of it though. Matt Vandart
Personally i found them to be very good as long as you keep the lockring tight. A dude that rides round here had his blow up on him just a few days ago, sounds like a bad batch. You are entitled to a refund if you can prove it was a manufacturing defect, you don't have to accept an exchange. I found the 60 clicks to be much better and also more than enough engagements.
