MadManMike
I got my new DMR yesterday, built it up with a nice white Kore stem I had. As you can see, it's not a perfect fit. Is it likely to snap and kill me? Whack iPhone pic:
err
looks a bit deadly tbh Edited March 1, 2012 by err
MadManMike
To add to this, the bolts go quite far in and the bars don't move at all. I think it might be worth putting the factory one back on though, I'm a little worried!

MadManMike
Those bolts tight mike? They're tight, I could go further but I don't want to over tighten them and snap something!

pogo
Death by tubing, what are the measurements of the handle bar and the internal of the stem?
Daniel Gray
22.2mm stem with 25.4mm bars? was thinking oversized stem and smaller bars..
Ali C
If the stem was oversized, it would bottom out before it clamped down on the bars so the bars would just flop around in the clamp. The bars are too big for the clamp size, so on this stem the bars aren't in the clamp properly and the bolts are sticking out by miles. In related news: This is a very bad idea.
MadManMike
You all confirmed what I thought really... I rode the bike to and from work but went very easy on it (ie no jumping, or even going up kerbs) Anyway, got home early this morning and put the factory issue stem on it. It's big, ugly and heavy but at least I get to keep my facial features Cheers chaps!
