alex-trials-boy
Evening guys, Ment to ask this ages ago, i know people cut the outside part off they're welgo mag pedals, guess it saves weight but does it improve grip? as it looses 2 pins help and pics appreciated thanks, Alex. Mowgli
I did this a while ago, the amount of weight it saves is very minimal. I felt that it was uncomfortable as you lose quite alot of width on your pedals, i am size 9 feet. If you have an old set maybe try it on them and if you dont like it keep your current ones as they are. Regards
craigjames
I found you lost a fair bit of support for your foot which was quite uncomfortable. I'd leave them be.
Jamie_Trials
Sounds stupid lol, Keep em how they are, they're designed to be light how they are so I'm sure they've done everything they can to make it the best they can. Luke Rainbird
I'd agree that every pair of cut up MG-1s I've ever felt has felt beyond awful. If you really want to save a bit more weight from them throw in some Ti axles

ghostrider88
I have echo cage pedals and am very happy with them. They have a very large platform. Larger than pedals i am used to. Great for big feet.Great for trials. There is also a super light model available aswell. Echo also has the platform models that are your typical pedals with replaceable pin. Also availble in superlight model with Ti spindle. Cutting parts off the pedal does not sound like a good idea to me. Maybe to shave some weight but i would not cut any material off that would sacrifice grip/strenth. Breaking a pedal body can also be a bad experiance. I like sticking to my pedals, the more grip the better. Carry butterfly closures around with you if you do not wear shin pads they are like stiches but save you the hospital visit. Makes for a clean small scar not a wide one. Squeeze wound together and apply closure. It may be excessive but it is the inevitable to slip a pedal no matter how grippy. Note to self, wear shin pads. Thinking about getting soccor style cool/light weight ones. 1:what it has to do with wellgo mg-1s? 2:If you need to wear shinguards, your pedals/shoes aren´t that good really.
