josh barker
if you want a smooth polished finish use a compound polish first such a light t cut, i use turtle wax safecut on my polished up alloy bits, then you could use meguiars nxt metal polish for a optimun shine and finish
ben_travis
How do people have the time to polish frames!? not wanting to be offensive, and while I am sure a polished look would be nice, it is only going to get scratched up, which wont look so hot? each to their own I suppose. maybe I am just being grumpy today

sam80
Depends what sort of shine you want. I worked my way down to 000 sand paper then used Autosol Metal polish. The amount of shine will depend on how much work you put into it (which will decrease every time you do it!). I wouldn't bother lacquering it, just makes a mess when it chips. Keep it raw and you can sand out any new scratches and re polish. http://www.flickr.com/photos/redwheel/6883073632/
