Philly_Biker
I recently switched from an old planet x steel fork with hs-33s to a echo sl disc fork. New to the disk world. I had bad luck with the echo tr disc brakes so i scrapped that and want to get the magura lousie 2011 with the on the fly adjustment knob. http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/21898-115_MAG071-3-Parts-158-Brakes/Disc/Magura-Louise-Alloy-Bat-Brake-2011-offer.htm?utm_source=SLI&utm_medium=datafeed&utm_campaign=FTP&zmam=3075515&zmas=1&zmac=42&zmap=115%20MAG071 I want to have alot of brake power. I assume a 180mm rotor would be the best so i am going to go for that. I am happy with magura brakes so im leaning towards the lousie plus 100 dollar price tag is pretty cheap in comparison to other models. Are these brakes powerful? 5 year leak warrenty too. Seems to be the best choice for me at the time. Will i have any problems running these brakes on the echo sl fork. What adapters are needed? Thanks for any input. First post!!! N.Wood
Look like the fork is a standard ISO mount, so when you buy the 180mm brake it should come with the right size adaptor
Philly_Biker
So the im going to run with the lousie with 180mm magura sl rotor. It looks i need the magura adapter that is the post type to the international standard tab for 180mm. Its adapter number 12.Im gonna call them up hopefully the adapter comes with the brake like you said. Is the carbon lever opion worth it? 10 more dollars. Worried that i might break/flex the carbon lever while trials riding. 6 Grams lighter too. Probably just run with the alloy lever. Does anyone have the carbon lever? How are they? http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/21897-115_MAG061-3-Parts-158-Brakes/Disc/Magura-Louise-Carbon-Bat-Brake-2011-offer.htm?utm_source=SLI&utm_medium=datafeed&utm_campaign=FTP&zmam=3075515&zmas=1&zmac=43&zmap=115%20MAG061 http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/18636-115_MAGQM8-3-Parts-158-Brakes/Disc/Magura-QM-Brake-Adapters-offer.htm?utm_source=SLI&utm_medium=datafeed&utm_campaign=FTP&zmam=3075515&zmas=1&zmac=43&zmap=115%20MAGQM8 Thank You Happy Valentine Day Edited February 14, 2012 by Philly_Biker
Azarathal
You might as well go for the carbon "just cause" Plus carbon lever blades are more comfortable than their alu counterparts (going by the feel of hopes).
Philly_Biker
Comfort of the carbon lever sounds good. Im gonna probably roll with the carbon. Everything today is going towards carbon anyway. Its the new plasic/metal. Thanks
trialsbeginner
yeahh get one my mate has one on his onza blade and it is so sharp, is good aswell because the lever doesnt flex so it is just a really good bite and hold

Philly_Biker
Got the Lousie, carbon lever on the fly adjustment, 203 rotor. They have tons of power over the echo Tr brake with 180mm. I love Magura.
