Laurence--Trials
I was considering the halo choir boy lite tyre (LINK) as my next tyre. OR i could take out my downhill tube and get a heavyer tyre such as the Halo Ception (LINK) Thoughts? Anyone used either of the tyres? I'm looking to save a little weight around my rear wheel area as my bike is feeling a little heavy to me at the moment and my rear tyre needs changing anyway. Revolver
Swampthing and a normal innertube = job done.
3dd
No to both in the 1st post. I am running high roller 2.5 with every second bigger sideknob cut of and it feels nice, enough spring and has alot of protection. Big betty on the other hand would have been the perfect choice, but it's a bit more expensive! It is lighter and has better spring effect. It's my next tyre after roller is dead. P.s. Swampthing is pretty damn good too! Edited February 3, 2012 by 3dd
Laurence--Trials
Whats wrong with the two halo tyres? Not enough spring i assume??
Greetings
What's wrong with a Big Betty or High Roller?
Laurence--Trials
Running a big betty at the moment, and just wanted to try a different tyre. Maxxis i've tried before so also want to try something different.
3dd
Whats wrong with the two halo tyres? Not enough spring i assume?? They weight twice as much as other tyres and yes have no spring at all. What's wrong with a Big Betty or High Roller? Nothing at all! Laurence--Trials
Finding it hard to find the swampthing 2.5 tyre anywhere, help would be goooooood. Revolver where did you get yours from? would 2.35 be better (easier to find and buy?) Edited February 3, 2012 by Laurence--Trials
Bigman
I may have gone abit crazy buying 24inch maxxis tyres on ebay, managed to get a 24 x 2.5 super tacky high roller, a 24 x 2.5 super tacky swampthing and a 24 x 2.5 slow reezay swampthing, When they arrive I will have a play with a these and see which suits me better, will likely end up selling atleast one of them..... I am running a big betty at the moment, grips ok but its not particularly stable on off camber, so looking forward to trying a maxxis! I think I got mine from chain reaction, but they don't have them any more. 2.35 isn't going to be bad, get that if you can. Laurence--Trials
I couldn't really find the 2.35 either, shal have to have another look later on. Going back to the halo tyres wouldn't they be nice and bouncy if you ran lower pressures?
Azarathal
Halo tires are pure shite from every experience I've had with them. Why not try a single ply 24x2.4 fat Albert evo
Laurence--Trials
Ahh okay thanks, will stay clear of them. i did look at them but im not paying £40+ for a tyre, just a little much IMO.
dirt jumper jake
I had swampthings on my 26" before and just got pinch flats non stob because of the knobs, as did crisp. No one else had these problems?
Luke Dunstan
High Rollers weigh too much, changed to a Swamp Thing which made a HUGE difference. I used a welter weight tube, and I'm not light or smooth and never had a puncture. (no need to touch wood, bike is now sold)
Revolver
I had swampthings on my 26" before and just got pinch flats non stob because of the knobs, as did crisp. No one else had these problems? Not me. It's possible to pinch a swampthing. Holyrollers pinch constantly, swampthings rarely pinch and I never pinched a high roller.
