bagre15
I recently bought a hope tech trial for the rear. I've never used a rear disc before. Now I'm starting to get used with it. The brake has a small play, is it normal? I've checked everything, and it's all tighthen up, but I still got the tiny play. Somebody can help me finding the cause of this? Ali C
should settle with time. what you will find is that the pad can slide a bit on the piston, after a bit of riding the piston will actually dent the back of the pad a little bit and that will stop most of the play. You could try removing the paint from the rear in effort to make the back of the pad have a bit more grip, but I don't think that will completely remove the play. Thanks for the fast reply Ali, it's a bit strange to balance in the rear wheel with this litle play, but I'll get used to it BTW, rear disc brakes are awesome, they provide an awesome hold
Matt Vandart
It could be your spokes flexing. Thats why people like maggies so much, no wheel flex. Changeing from a good rim brake, cough cough vee brake, to disk is a bit sloppy felling at first.
