Jimbob 2705
Hi Guys, What are the advantages and disadvantages of either? I know that Long Wheelbases are often favoured by Street Riders, but why? I am mainly talking about 20" Mods, but I am sure it is the same for all the sizes. Thanks and ATB James
Maladie
Long wheelbase is easy for rear wheel balance, and for side hops. Short wheelbase is good for short, bunny hop like moves (so good for comps) I'm sure theres alot more to it, but that's what i know

Rebelistic
http://www.trashzen.com/faq.php#geometry I prefer shorter bikes really, 1070 is about my limit.
Jimbob 2705
Thanks all. What would be classed as a Short Wb and a Long Wb for a Mod? Also, I wonder why Adam @ Tartybikes says Mods with long Wb are often preferred for street?
Azarathal
By street I think he means tgs 995wb is short (think koxx silver sky) 1065wb is stupidly long (Zoo pythons) I think nowadays 1000wb is short and 1020-1025 is long Edited January 27, 2012 by Azarathal

As below, Anything under the 1000 mark is short...anything over 1015 is long really; but you have to remember its the reach that makes the difference!! First we need to define what he means by street... TGS which is where the long bike comes in. If youre looking at street as in a bmx style ride, then shorter is better to increase manouverability.
