Ross McArthur
Its nothing too exciting looks or geo wise but ive got marino to make me up some 360 dropouts and thought i'd show the frame off before I build it up. Ive got a broken CK axle in there at the moment as I wanted to see how it all went together and thought you guys might like to have a look. Geo is, 1020, 10, 380, 73. Sorry the photos are not the best. Just ask if you would like to see some more. Oh, and ill be happy to answer any questions... Ta.
JD™
I was thinking about getting these for my 24 when I get him to build it. I take it he makes the inserts as well? Looks neat

Looks neat Yup. Its a 20mm insert with a 9-10mm hole for the axle. Removed for your pleasure.

Canardweb
SO how do you tension the chain? i don't get it...
Luke Rainbird
With a chain tensioner. Cool stuff Ross. I was going to get my old Marino done with 360 drops (sent him a load of drawings etc to explain it to him) but decided against it in the end for a few reasons - cool to see he's still doing them though

Looks niice!! What wheel size is it though? Good question. Ill be building it up soon. I'm still running my Marino with the eccentric dropouts at the moment. The postman droped off 7 Marino frames! No, not all mine, but a few are going to be popping up on here soon, another couple with the same dropouts - A dark purple 26 and a raw 24 with some nice geo! There was a few fixie/polo frames in there too.
Canardweb
So why 360 dropouts?
Towler
Looking LUSH! loving the drop outs!! Cant wait to see that built up!
Ross McArthur
So why 360 dropouts? Clive Leeson told me to... :$ Naa, I would actually prefer horizontal dropouts as its a simpler way to get chain tension. Pull the wheel back and tighten it up! Unfortunately my CK hub is only a QR and at the moment I'm not prepared to spend the cash on a HD axle ((but may have to if my 4th QR one dies! ) I know, I know, the money Ive spent on them bla bla could have bought me bla bla...)) So I thought instead of a vertical dropout a 360 one would be stiffer, neater and just generally better than a normal vertical one. I placed the hanger further down the CS as on other frames that Ive used Ive found that my tensioner arm wasn’t long enough to run "slammed" up at the chain stay (giving the best wrap possible on the rear cog) as the jockey wheel was too close to the cog. So now I will get decent wrap and no clashes, even with the shorter Rohloff arm. Looking LUSH! loving the drop outs!! Cant wait to see that built up! Cheers man. Might not have it down for Dumfries though
