cardenas_26trials
Hello everybody, Well, a friend of me has a zoo! 2012 frame and he says that the chain hits the chainstay all the time because there isn't enough space between them. I almost sure he has a KMC kool chain, which is pretty big. Has anyone here tried this frame and had the same trouble? Also, would a thinner chain solve the problem entirely? Thanks! AdamR28
Hits chainstay or seatstay? Which exact chain, rear hub and rear sprocket, cranks, bb, bashring/plate?
Greetings
This is the result of Echo pursuing the perfect chain line and combining it with very low frames. If it's got a full Echo drivetrain then I'd recommend wrapping the upper chainstay with an inner tube. There's about 3mm clearance between the chain and the top tube but since the chain moves sideways it hits the tube constantly. Maintaining a high chain tension will also help. Changing chains won't if you want to install a chain of similar strength. The K810 is around 7mm wide, the Z610HX is only .1mm narrower. If the inner tube doesn't help, the only proper way out is to change the hub. A Trialtech hub will solve the problem, especially if run with an Echo TR cog. Laurence--Trials
I had this problem on my 09 lynx, to solve it i had to change the sprocket to an offset one like the Because sprocket with the teeth closest to the spokes. AdamR28
A thinner chain, like Z610HX will do the job there. That's the easiest/cheapest solution anyway
