Azarathal
Hey guys, I got some form of Cybershot camera for Christmas and although the picture quality is amazing the video quality is pisspoor, I only wanted a camera for filming so I've spoke to my mum (as she bought it) and I've got the receipt for it. She paid £100 for the camera and about £50 on a case + 4gb sd card + insurance, hopefully I'll be able to use the sd card + trasnfer the insurance if I buy it from the same place. I've also got about £50 of my own money to put towards a new camera. Must be able to film in 720 and I'd prefer to have capabilities to add a threaded fisheye rather than those dodgy magnetic ones and also be able to sit on a tripod. Cheers in advance, Mikey. Azarathal
I'm not sure whether it was the way the videos were edited / compressed but the videos from Playsports that I've seen look to be full 720p but kinda choppy. Plus they use a magnetic mount for lenses. I guess I'll get one if no one else can provide answers.

Azarathal
That was one of the videos that I didn't like the quality of, seems a bit grainy, colours look off and theres no consistancy between dark clips and the clips that're too bright. I guess it'll have to do if theres nothing else around this kinda price point though.
JamieWilliams
I have just bought a flip Ultra HD 3rd gen 8GB and only £85 should be £120 from Argos films in HD 720p 60fps, And there is a lens hack I am doing to it. But it does mean you need to glue a 30.5mm to 37mm step up ring to the camera but well worth it as I have been testing it as I wait for the glue to come and it is amazing, The camera it's self is mint but just can't really get much in the shot without going really far back so the wide angle lens really helps There are a few flip cams But only the Flip Ultra HD and Flip Mino HD 3rd Gen's film 720p with 60fps and Image Stabilisation and only difference between Ultra and Mino with the ultra you can take out the Li-Ion rechargeable battery and put 3 AAA if out and the battery dies which is very handy Flip Ultra HD 3rd Gen 8GB Flip Mino HD 3rd Gen 4GB Flip Mino HD 3rd Gen 8GB There is also the 2nd Gen ones but they film 720p with 30fps and has no Image Stabilisation but are a pit cheaper All flip cameras here's a video of how to do the len hack Is a very cheap mod to All from Amazon Got a Wide angle lens for £6.45 Which I have made in to a fisheye Step up ring £2.98 and Krazy glue £2.12 Here's a test clip! in my garden at night (with lens) Hope this helps Jamie Edited January 18, 2012 by JamieWilliams

dann2707
There pretty good as long as you remember its there. Ive knocked Dans off quite a few times You silly billy you The quality only goes to shit though when the lense is attached. For example this is without (it does stills too) And this is with the lense.
Azarathal
Jamie I know that videos at night but the resolution on it looks terrible and as Dan has just pointed out the playsport becomes shit with a lense attached. I'd rather spend the full £150 on a camera than £80 on something I wouldn't be happy with.
Joe Papasnap Maher
Right..not being funny..but you have 150quid..and your expecting dslr quality.. Its not going to happen..so either save up..or settle for something with lesser quality..
CalopS
Ive got a Gopro that Ive barely used that I will let go for £150 + postage? Its the helmet hero and I got extras of both sized tube clamps, tripod mount and an extra head mount. Pm if interested!
Azarathal
I dont expect dslr quality but I do expect better than grainy, jumpy footage. Calops If I can return this camera for cash I might take you up on that offer, I'll let you know. Edit* The Helmet Pro works out to be about £155 from the official website but I take it those accessorys probably come to about £35-40 right?
