forteh Posted January 12, 2012 Report Share Posted January 12, 2012 Have you ground your rims? If so, check the bead edge where the tyre sits, if there is a sharp edge there it will cause pinches. Run round it with a file or carefully with a grinder so that its a rounded edge and you may find the pinches stop happening Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Rubbing on the edges of the rim drillings will also weaken a tube so that when you pressurise it by landing it splits at the thin point. Do you still get pinches at lower pressures? Also might be worth chucking some talcum powder in the tyre when you put a new tube in, it helps the rubber slide over itself and can help stop pinches.
