LukasMcNeal
Someone's asked me how much to post a bike to Belgium, what website/service is suitable!
Luke Rainbird
Parcel2Go.com - grab yourself a quote on there and you can compare a fair few services too Just sent a bike to Italy for £25, collected from my door etc.
LukasMcNeal
Im on my iPhone at the moment just tried that and got £87?! I'm unsure on dimensions but it's a stock so would take the wheels off and put them by the side. I'd say length 120cm height 80cm and width at max would be no more than 30cm. But I think I'm getting my length, heights and widths confused? Weight no more than 15kg aswell. Rich J
Lengths widths and heights wont matter the order its the cubic size they are interested in. Could always try the post office for prices.
Endohopper
Afraid I can't suggest a courier or company ,but it's heartening to see that people are prepared to ship abroad . I've missed out on some killer deals on here because the seller balked at sending to Holland despite my assurances that I'll amply cover postage and as such the transaction requires no extra effort on the seller's part than simply writing the name of a country on the box . It's not as if the seller has to personally ride the blasted thing to the destination country , and unless the buyer wants it as a "present for my nephew in Nigeria" there's really no reason to decline foreign buyers ,many of whom will pay top dollar/Euro/moon credits because of scarcity of trials retailers in said land . Good show Edit : pff - Belgium ? As if that country has any good riders
LukasMcNeal
Yeah that's right I don't mind if they postage is covered but I feel for the person as its gonna be hefty, a whole bike is around £90 or so.
Luke Rainbird
With the size of the full bike box I used the other day (120*75*25) and a weight of 15kg; £37 is hardly extortionate. No excuses
Greetings
I'd say length 120cm height 80cm and width at max would be no more than 30cm. The size is crucial. Most if not all courier companies calculate volumetric weight of the parcel. So for instance, for the size you quoted DHL would charge you for shipping a 58kg parcel. UPS and FedEx would be similar, it all depends on the weight divider. It's usually around 5000 for air services. The minimum size to safely ship a stock bike is roughly: 105x55x25 For a mod: 105x38x25 Additionally many companies will have a big surcharge for shipments where one dimension is 120cm or more, that's something to do with it not fitting on a Euro pallet which is 120x80. So keep the longest dimension as small as possible.
