isitafox
I got a load of cheap red and white material from Steve a while back and as my yellows on the rear are finally due for changing I wondered if anyone could advise which would be best to replace them with to save me messing about changing and bedding in 2 sets of pads?? Will be running them on a medium grind if that helps in CNC backings.
SamKidney
I had them. Out of the two, the whites were better. Good bite and sound with mediocre hold. Reds were awfull. Sharp, harsh grind worked best for me on the whites.
Azarathal
Reds used to be amazing, they only need a light grind to be amazing from what I remember.
isitafox
Went for the reds and it look like they should be up to the job. Just need to wear down a bit as my rim is at a slight angle to the pads so they're not quite hitting squarely, not making much noise yet but thats no bad thing, will just have to see how they go! forteh
I had a set of reds, they were ok but I think a lot of that was due to my grind not being right. Been using a set of yellows for the last two years and theyre perfect (if a little loud), bite and hold are phenomenal; hold only falls off once the grind has gotten too dull. Ive got a set of white pads to use once the yellows finally peg it, the white and yellow compounds are identical apart from the colour. I always had a fairly harsh (but not hugely sharp) grind with my reds, I think with my current grind (medium sharp) they would probably be a lot better.
