Chain Tight Spots

VAMPIRE V12

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Put a new sprocket on my zoot and now i have a tight spot any ideas on how i get rid of it? My chain needs to be tighter because when it does not hit the tight spot its quite slack yet when it hits it then it tightens up to the correct tension i want it :/

Cheers.

Errrr, no it's not.

Tight spots are caused by the sprocket tooth surface having a slightly different center to the axle, I.E: It doesn't move in a perfect circle. Factor in the crank arm and freewheel having the same problem, and the answer is, you can't do anything about them apart from over tension your chain, which will wear it out.

Get a chain stay protector and ignore the slap. :P

that doesn't f**king matter though, it doesn't matter if the chains to long, or just the right length, it'll still be looser at certain points, i have the same issue, brand new chain on yesterday and i still have the same loose and tight spots :(
