VAMPIRE V12
Guys, Put a new sprocket on my zoot and now i have a tight spot any ideas on how i get rid of it? My chain needs to be tighter because when it does not hit the tight spot its quite slack yet when it hits it then it tightens up to the correct tension i want it :/ Cheers. Muel
Errrr, no it's not. Tight spots are caused by the sprocket tooth surface having a slightly different center to the axle, I.E: It doesn't move in a perfect circle. Factor in the crank arm and freewheel having the same problem, and the answer is, you can't do anything about them apart from over tension your chain, which will wear it out. Get a chain stay protector and ignore the slap.
Apocalypse_reaper666
Only said that as I've had that problem and got a new chain and it fixed the problem. What more can I say.

It may have fixed the problem because yours may have been stretched but the new chain wouldn't have been stretched so it's slightly shorter. ogre
that doesn't f**king matter though, it doesn't matter if the chains to long, or just the right length, it'll still be looser at certain points, i have the same issue, brand new chain on yesterday and i still have the same loose and tight spots
