MadManMike
You're all familiar with my house tracks and possibly some of my hard trance tracks, but I'm bored of producing the same old sounds. Thought I'd try some DnB instead: Listen 'ere! It's still only a work in progress, but it's getting there... Enjoy.

MonsieurMonkey
I want some techno / electro. Give it to me! Less of this mainstream shit.
Miss-Higgy
Not trying to start an argument here, but i wouldn't say drum and bass was any more or less mainstream than techno/electro.. Ok so chase and status dj fresh and nero etc have all hit big time making them slightly less appealing. But drum and bass as a genre has only became commercial due to posh kids and dubstep! And i would say mike has created a fast pace liquid dnb song, and liquid is defiantly not mainstream.
MonsieurMonkey
I don't know who any of those people are. And I didn't listen to this particular mix / track. But techno and electro, or at least what I listen to, aren't mainstream. DnB ever since pendulum has been becoming more and more mainstream. When did they release that first track, I can't even remember what it was called, but it was like '06. Now every pop song has some dirty electro beat in it, instruments aren't cool anymore, the rock fad has gone. Regardless, my original comment was more of a joke. But I do like pounding techno /wink wink Mike.
club_card
Nice! I'll add that to my favourites!

And they are great live but have become extremely main stream. I think "Slam" is the song your referencing. I do see your point and like i say you can blame the creation of dubstep for the massively mainstream poop! And to be fair rnb and drum and bass have all came from reggae and dubplate etc. So blame the rasta's not pendulum

MadManMike
Good Stuff Thanks dudette I want some techno / electro. Give it to me! Less of this mainstream shit. You checked out my other tracks on SoundCloud? That's pretty much all I used to make, but I think SoundCloud has my slightly more weird tracks on... Can't really remember. Not trying to start an argument here, but i wouldn't say drum and bass was any more or less mainstream than techno/electro.. I'll add that to my favourites! Thanks sir, glad you like! Part way through, I'm enjoying this. You've come a long way! Cheers Disasterboy (Yeah, bringin' it back!), I certainly have come a long way - I heard one of my first tracks the other day, it was AWFUL haha. To think I used to post that stuff online! MadManMike
liquid is definately the most mainstream genre of drum and bass. netsky and hospitality is proof of that Liquid isn't mainstream, this is mainstream: Pop CD But then there's always commercial tracks from any genre, for instance that awful Danza Kuduro track that Radio 1 rinsed a while back. Kuduro music is certainly not commercial, in fact 90% of people have no idea what Kuduro is - though now a lot of people think it's that cheese, when it really isn't. Same with house music, house music is still underground, but you always get the odd Ibiza anthem popping onto the radio... Liquid certainly isn't a genre I'd frequently associate with the charts though.

Miss-Higgy
liquid is definately the most mainstream genre of drum and bass. netsky and hospitality is proof of that LOL Netsky is mainstream with dnb fans, with that perspective you could call high contrast, benny page, furlonge and netsky etc living gods

konstant
This'll be good. Maybe it wants more depth in a couple of places, as you'd expect for something half finished. The foreground synth that comes in right from the start — the one that sounds like it delays for 2 more quavers — I think this could do with a bit more work. Liking the drums. Also liking the end-of-fourth-bar upbeats eg 1:16, 1:38... Are you just gating and flanging the drum track? Couldn't care less if a few DnB producers have gone mainstream... Hospital puts out some good stuff.

Max Quinn
LOL Netsky is mainstream with dnb fans, with that perspective you could call high contrast, benny page, furlonge and netsky etc living gods No, Netsky is mainstream in the fact that he fills out clubs worldwide with thousands of people, who are going specifically to see him rather than just going to a rave. But yer, who eats the most cheese aside, sounding sick Mike! Not really my thing if I'm honest an I don't really like the countdown, but the drums sound tight. Ps. All anyone needs to know about Hospital nowadays is Nu:Tune and Logistics. Edited January 1, 2012 by Max Quinn
MadManMike
Cheers Max - I also decided that the countdown sounds gash, so that will be gone soon. In fact of all the people I've played it to that's been the main criticism. It's a valid point! I'll do some more tweaking and upload the new version soon
