SuperDeathMonkey
The rear mount is very enclosed with lots of weird struts and stuff, so I am thinking of just getting a BB7 but i don't know whether it'll fit, im guessing i'd have to get the 180mm. Anyone know anything about these frames, would be nice to get a list of possible brakes that would fit it. Scott Gibbs
No it wont fit buddy. I think your resrtricted to Hope mono\tech trial or the new Echo disc brake. I know a few guys have put other systems on with some serious work\fettling.
SuperDeathMonkey
aaw well think i'm just going to get a thinner rim and then run a v-brake cheers for the help
Scott Gibbs
To be honest with a good setup a V-brake will have just as much power if not more and will have better hold too, also its lighter. I switched from rear disc to V-brake and never looked back.
Jimmy 04 pitbull
i would say don't bother and go rear Vee because they are simple so nothing much to go wrong with them . P.S. what are the forks like that come with the frame kit because www.tartybikes.co.uk don't show a picture and i am very tempted to get one give street trials a go. bing
if you are insisting on a disk, they suggest using a magura louise, and its set for a 180 disk. or a hope no.3 caliper. otherwise get a v brake and some heatsink yellows
Azarathal
I'd say save up for a rear hope, Tarty Adam used to run dual disc on his Hydroxx 26" and from what I remember reading he got on okay with it. I've also ridden the... Red sky? at Barrow farm which was dual disc and felt amazing to ride.
