Otacon
One of my external hard drives has decided to corrupt, I plug it in, it reads it, but ses i need to format it to use it and it saying that its 0 bytes out of 0 bytes when its a 1TB and i cant view my files and folders. I dont give a shit about the hard drive, there next to nothing to buy, but i REALLY dont wanna loose the data off it. Anyone know how i can get the data off it ? I guess moneys not an issue if i have to pay, within reason...
Topsy
If money is not an issue, why not just bring it past the local computer shop and let them look? Also there are some places specialized in data recovery.
Muel
Whatever you do, don't trust a local shop. If you're going to pay anyone to recover the data, send it off to someone big. I think Freecom used to offer a dedicated service for sorting this kinda thing out.
bikeperson45
I don't know about computers much, I just wanted to point out the irony of the incorrect spelling of genius and use of the apostrophe. There, all better. Edited December 14, 2011 by bikeperson45
kaybs41282
Have you tried some data recovery software first off the interweb?
Topsy
Obviously, I did mean someone qualified and trustworthy with "local shop".
Muel
Doesn't matter. Anywhere local has a man with a laptop, if you post it off to a big name, they have labs where they can remove the discs from the hard drives and read them that way. bikeperson45
The plural of genius is not genius. Back you go young pedant. I never said it was, so I'm not getting your point. And I'm not being a pedant, I just found the irony a teeny bit funny, I'll turn my sense of humor off in future.

Quoting stuff that's completely not related to make a sentence. Funny. Edited December 14, 2011 by dann2707
