ben_travis
A new little clips video for y'all to watch. Just some lines I have been doing recently that I was reasonably happy with. Also being impatient with the weather / work / college that I have decided i'll just start fresh with some clips next year. I edited on the iPad and i'm quite happy with how it came out actually. Still need to learn how to do some more advanced stuff but I am getting there with it. All comments, positive and negative, are welcome. 1a2bcio8
That was actually my favourite yet. Digging all those bunnyhops and it was cool to see you nail that 3 down the steps. It looks like you're really getting to grips with that style of street riding
Mark W
That was sweet! You look really settled on that bike now. Nice to see some speed and bunnyhops too

weirdoku
I once went to a pub quiz and called our team Emergency Contraception, we came second and got a round of free drinks. True story bro.

JDâ„¢
Sorry to go slightly against the grain here, because I definitely liked it. It had all the right ingredients and yet, for me, there was something missing. The only thing I can put my finger on having watched it a couple of times is that it seemed like there was a bit of a "that'll do" feel to the clips... I really don't mean this as badly as it sounds, I'm trying to go for constructive criticism but I'm failing to be constructive! Basically, I'm really looking forward to a full video by you which is something you're really proud of and thus wanna do everything just right. bikeperson45
Loved it, only thing that annoyed me was the 360 landing. You're rolling gaps are pretty big indeed.
ben_travis
Cheers for all the comments guys. Much appreciated! JD - I must admit that part of the reason I have released the video was because I wasn't happy with how the clips came out! I want to make something really good for my next big video, but everything I film doesn't quite hit the spot for myself! One thing to point out is that everything in the video I have never done before! It's lines I'd spotted but never quite been ballsy to do! Bearing in mind my old style, it's taken me this long to build up confidence to do things like 360's and Head towards walls with speed! I appreciate what you've said! It would be interesting to hear whether you think it's the riding or the filming? Loved it, only thing that annoyed me was the 360 landing. You're rolling gaps are pretty big indeed. I know I need to work on my 360's, I do nt seem to keep my body rotating when I go round! I'll be working on it when I go brakeless this winter!! If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate them?? Cheers again everyone

JackMeek
Like the frame shots. Who filmed it? You seem much more settled with your bike since i saw you in summer. Nice vid.

It would be interesting to hear whether you think it's the riding or the filming? Maybe a huge amount of my post was jealousy, I'm not completely sure. Basically in my first trials life I was more of a natural, compy rider and this time round I'm trying to do the whole street lark (and failing miserably, I might add!) so I hope I sort of know how tough it is to make the change. You can hop far higher than me and spin far further, but ultimately it's just something about the style of it which screams "I've made a change and I'm kind of forcing it" to me. I think it's something which will only come in time, and maybe it's the fact that your skills outweigh how long you've been doing this style of riding... Honestly, this is the weirdest opinion of a riding video I think I've ever had, because I like it all in theory but something just makes me not like it and I can't really explain why! Ignore me! ben_travis
JD waffling on about some cr*p Appreciate your opinion JD, and im certainly not offended. Many video's dont get actual "constructive" criticism in here and I agree with what you are saying. My street riding is definitely coming along compared to my earlier videos on the inspired. It just needs more time because I spent over 10 years being TGS. The past couple of months it has changed because I have watched about 95% bmx videos for inspiration as apposed to trials. However I still want to show that the inspired can be used for 'pure*' trials rather than purely trying to be a bmxer on a trials bike** I know the style still needs to come for the flow etc, but i'd like to keep my own style in there as well. *pure trials is not meant to cause any arguments. its meant to describe the 'long, low, TGS type style i used to have. **this is not intended at anyone, nor to cause an argument. I want to mix and match how I ride the bike. I will not conform to one type of riding.
JDâ„¢
Glad it's taken as intended, looking forward to seeing more videos and being more jealous
tryallmaster
Where do I start.. You want criticism.. I give you criticism: Firstly, what I did not like was your bunny hops were way too high and smooth.. Not impressed. Secondly, you are way too creative and you go too big with your rolling gaps. Thirdly, the bike is starting to suit you really well. Appalled to see that. All in all it was w$%k.. Peace.
