err
as per the title really, does anyone have any experience of them for trials use?
Chris Borneo
Never used an eccentric hub for trials but I have ridden a single speed setup with horisontal dropouts and no chain tensioner. The problem I had was that when I landed on my bashring, I would kind of land on the chain at the same time and withot a sprung tentioner, it would pull the wheel out of place. You might not have this problem though.
Ross McArthur
I don’t know of any eccentric hubs as such that would be able to withstand any decent trials abuse but I am running a eccentric dropout system with a CK hub. Ive been running this set up for over a year now and have a love hate relationship with it. Love having no hanger to bend and no tensioner to mash. Love the clean chain line and how smooth it runs. Hate having to carry extra tools (screw driver) to tension the cams on rides if I ever get a puncture (and its not as quick and easy to get the wheel out than a horizontal or vertical set up)...But thats about it. The love definitely out ways the hate. Heres a few pictures of the set up. Marino Twist
err
that looks really tidy, i'm guessing it's very secure! i hate chain tensioners with a passion, i'm switching to horizontal dropouts and snail cams soon
