Carlperkins
ok so im going to raw a frame, decided to use nitromors as everyone seems to recommend it. does nitromors have any effect on BB threads, 4 bolt threads, headtube strength etc?? either that or i might just get it shotblasted which is cheap and easy, but then how do i clean out the threads etc after? any help much appreciated! carl. dann2707
Nitromorse should be fine on threads, it just removes paint. It's caustic soda that will destroy threads, it removed half of my head tube so my headset didn't fit in at all!!
Ali C
if you get your frame blasted, put some spare bolts and bb in the frame to protect the threads.
Carlperkins
ok i think ill go with the nitromors option, i dont mind a bit of elbow grease. ill most probably sand down the areas around the threaded bits so i dont get nitromors in the holes then paint strip the rest, as long as it definatley wont bugger up the head tube or weaken the frame etc. i wont go for shotblasting cos i dont have a spare BB.oh and how do you remove powdercoat?? i take it nitromors wont touch that? i have powdercoated forks and would like to raw them too.. Ali C
it's impossible for nitromorse to damage threads. nitromorse gets rid of paint, powdercoat is a type of paint.

trialsrider101
paint should come of easy enough buddy it was only a rattle can jobby but there are a few nooks and crannys that you may need some sort of wire brush for for example the where the chain stays meet the top and bottom tubes
totaltrials
Nitromors is fine. Caustic soda is not, but if you're frame isn't anodised then Nitromors is fine.
