onza pro series guy
Hi I'm a bit confussled as i've always been a hydro man, I hope you can help me out. Apart from around £6 and 25g I can see no real difference (weight weenie I am not). Is there anything that should persuade me to buy the SD7 caliper (I want to run SD7 leavers anyhow)rather than the 5? Any bad experiences, difference in performance, or build qualtiy I should know about? Tell me anything really I just have no idea when it ccomes to vees

Azarathal
I vaugly remember... Mark W? I think it was claiming the BB5 was slightly more powerful but the BB7 is more adjustable. Probably wrong Is the Deore really more powerful? The BB discs I've used have been so powerful every front wheel move felt like a fork breaker. Dude, he's talking about vees, but I've been running an SD5 on the front for a while now with no real issues, but I'm not too sure what the differences are either, curious to know as well. onza pro series guy
Deore calipers are better than both. in what aspect? call me stupid but I should imagine a £7 caliper on CRC is probably not up to scratch, mind you I've been wrong before and I only thought of Avid because my mate runs Ultimates and they are simply amasing! Really really compuzzled now tempted toward an SD5 me thinks.
Azarathal
Oh my bad Shimano vee's are very good value for money to be honest, I'd rather have one of those than an ultimate, Ali C ran them I think and he had problems either with play or the bearings. dann2707
The pins in my Avid SD7's have both broken off, you can tell they are super cheap and nasty (the pins) but for what you pay you can't really complain. They still work and require absolute minimal messing about to get them working. I've told loads of people this but sticking the SD7 on the front was one of the best things i've done to my bike, it just, always works and holds.
