dann2707
I always see people raging at each other for having their bars too far forward. And I presume i'm going to get a reply saying "do what ever is comfortable". But I just wanted to see if people thought this sort of angle looked normal. If it is i'll have a play with tilting it back and forth a tad to really perfect it. Edited November 23, 2011 by dann2707
SamKidney
Considering my Trialtech Highrise bars are at this angle, I think your's will be fine mate! *These are perfectly comfortable at the angle Im running them. Best bars Ive run.
Laurence--Trials
Looks a little far forward for me. I tried moving mine forward to the angle you have them now and found i lost ability to pedal kick as high, also made my wrists worse, all the other moves felt about the same, so i just moved them back. Can see where your coming from. I should have included in the first post, Ive removed those spacers, so Im running the bar a bit higher now and It feels the same. dann2707
Are you supposed to ride that upside down?
JDâ„¢
I was always happiest in my hoppy days when the rise of the bars was vertical, never tilted them forward for sure. Now I'm more streety, I run TT high rises with the rise parallel to the head angle. Simple

Laurence--Trials
Thought you'd reply Ali, but gotta admit that WAS NOT the type reply i was expecting.
Ali C
I am not all negative, I am quite the teddybear actually, and his bars seem to have a slight amount of backsweep which is all good in my books.
Gandalf the Yellow
for a second I thought you had 2 identical bikes. that is fine, pretty much how I have mine on a stock, slight tilt forwards. Personally I think it's all down to preference, I've bickered before with other riders about how it feels nicer with a bit of a forward tilt, though some I know like the streety backsweep, they love it and I don't get on with it... each to their own. Ali C
Some people can get away with it (TRA and Gilles being the main two). The issue I have is when it's painfully obvious when watching a rider that the bar angle is making them ride worse, not better. The usual signs are that they ride with their elbows sticking out like they are doing some weird chicken impression, they will be stiffer on the bike and they usually can't get their weight far back enough to pull moves, oh and their riding style goes to shit. Luke Rainbird
First bike looks good. On a pure trials bike the bars will always be a little further forward than a 'normal' bike as they are going to spend more time on the rear wheel so need the tweak, it's just that some people seem to take it to ridiculous extremes

Why can some people like tra and gilles get away with it? Also i do chicken impressions, does that mean i need to bring my bars back? SamKidney
Also another question as to why TRA and Giles can and others cant? I went out again tonight with my bars reset as per the photo (Ice) and it feels (To me) a million times nicer. Every one that's ridden my bike so far has said its felt great. And I'm In no awkward positions. Eg. Elbows out, weird hopping style. Still feels very normal and controlled.
Ali C
look at their style, they don't look shit, I don't want to drag any names into who looks shit, but it's pretty obvious when the bar angle us messing with them.
