Pete.M
A couple weeks ago I rotated my bars forwards and as expected the bike felt much better on the rear wheel, but it's causing me trouble with pedal-ups. It feels awkward, like my arms are not in a good position to launch the bike up and forwards. I understand that a lot of TGS riders like a long and low combo, and my style is probably more TGS than street at the moment, but something just doesn't feel right. The bike still has the standard bar and stem combo that comes with a Phase. Does it seem probable that I could do with a bit more rise to compensate for the extra reach? Thanks for any input, Pete. hazza2805
I know exactly what you mean Pete. I rotated the bars on my Phase forwards and certain moves came a lot easier. The position didn't feel quite right though, and I woke up the next morning not being able to move my wrist. More than a month later it still hurts, but I am managing to ride with the bars rotated quite far back. It is making controlling the bike harder, but puts less pressure on my wrist. I'm looking forward to seeing what people reply. Harry
Pete.M
Ouch, that must be quite irritating. It's probably a very hard question to answer given that geometry comes down to personal preference etc, but hopefully someone has a few ideas. Ali C
rolling the bars forwards usually puts most riders into a really nasty "elbows out" riding position. sure it makes the bike better on the rear wheel, but bikes are not pogosticks and should be setup to be ridden, it's not like they are hard to backhop with the bars in the correct position either. Pete.M
This is true. Would there be any advantage to having a higher rise stem though? I'm guessing it'd just feel a bit more...streety Cheers.
