shercofray
Hi, I bought a 2011 Neon Bow second hand a while ago, bottom bracket fell out whilst riding.. Threads are gone! Does anyone know of anyone who has the ability to helicoil a bottom bracket? Cheers, Frazer
monkeyseemonkeydo
I don't think it's possible to helicoil it purely because the thread size is so strange (specific to bikes). You can get types of BB's that don't rely on the frame being tapped but not 100% sure of who makes them or what's available.
craigjames
company called BETD frame repairs can do an insert for it but its not cheap. £60. Edited November 13, 2011 by craigjames
philgresty
yeah you can get bbs where the cups thread onto the bb as opposed to the frame threads, used them in work a few times on repairs where theyv been installed wrongly and nackerd the threads, only ever seen them in square taper though, never isis.http://www.tritoncycles.co.uk/m13b199s110p3339/YST_Threadless_Catridge_BB/RS_GB/7379 such as this one

winchman
Helicoils wont work 1 I dont think they do them in bike type threads 2 The need a good few milimeters of metal left to fix to The insert is the best way to go I assume they weld a piece in and cut a new thread? But as others have suggester try a BB that dosnt need a threaded frame.
