krazykid009
60mm stems tackers here, with a 90x35* stem and Span Spoon bars at 40mm rise! Although the new Hope stem will drop the total thing by about 10mm.... Gutted!
FamilyBiker
problem is bb height, now my bike has +20ish,and the new frame will have +50. now i´m trying to compensate that to get in a similar bar height. maybe i´ll keep the 50mm,but that´d look weird
Matt Vandart
As someone running 3 miles of stackers, i'd piss myself laughing if i snapped my steerer. I find it completely unfathomable that anyone could ever do it. Yeah you might have a little more leverage but the fact of the matter is that the large majority is still held perfectly tight inside the headtube. I've known steerers to give, and it's always at the crown race - when do they ever break above the ht?! Ha ha Koxx must have read this and thought 'We'll show him...............' Mark W
Is there some kind of "Late bump, out of context post" competition going on here? EDIT: Sorry, "ha ha".
FamilyBiker
Is there some kind of "Late bump, out of context post" competition going on here? EDIT: Sorry, "ha ha". hey hey! okay lets stay on topic, why so many stem stackers in uk? german riders usually ride their street bikes lower. is it like the thing with the brear brake on the "wrong" side of the bars? is it beeing uk riders beeing taller? been asking myself that for a while now,its really a"british setup" for us germans
Mark W
UK riders ride differently to most other riders it seems, and it seems like a higher front end kind of compliments that riding style. It seems like a lot of Euro riders tend to try and ride their 24's like a trials bike they're doing other stuff on, whereas it's almost like the other way round this side of the Channel. 0zzy
is there much of a market for sterror extenders then?
Mark W
Not as much of a market as there is for bars with a better shape.
0zzy
fair enough, i was just wondering. it would be simple for me to make a few inserts on the lathe perhaps. could be worth a go seen as bars with better shape will take longer to come across! FamilyBiker
wouldnt be something with no upsweep the best for trials? with my wrist problems i´d have to roll nealy every bars back to a silly ammount to achieve a comfortable shape. like dj bikes have,in line with the forks! Mark W
My bike's not a DJ bike but I've got my bars in line with my forks No upsweep doesn't really feel great - most 'street' or jump bars seem to be a bit more comfortable when you get them into that kind of position though.
