Wheelbase Length

I couldn't find any similar topics so I thought id ask.

Im 5.11" and ride a mod Speedrace Fans. The wheelbase is 1000mm, the bike seems to feel ok when I ride but would I benifit from a longer frame? It might be a stupid question because it's more of a personal thing but Iv had nothing to compare the length to.

Thanks.

wheelbase is possibly the least important measurement for bikes. If I was to get a custom bike I wouldn't even tell them what wheelbase I wanted, I would tell them all the other important things (reach, head angle, bb hight and chainstay length) and let the wheelbase be what ever it comes out as.

Your bike should be fine, mods should be fun and flicky and increasing the reach will ruin it.

Ahh ok thanks, I just wanted to check incase I was doing any damage to my back or incase it was limiting how I ride.

Thanks very much (Y)

Mods are easy and fun to ride but I've always rode short frames (995mm, 1000mm and 1005mm) Any longer and I lose that flicky feeling.

Stocks I find are very cumbersome and sluggish and yet gapping I can get so much more power. e.g. Across a wide parking space, on the mod I'll get 3/4 of the way and land slightly pissed and get a touch of tyre roll, on my friends stock I'll make it to the line easy.

I've settled for the middle ground and I'm please to say I'm picking up my Echo24" trial from MrMeek tomorrow :)

Ok man, thanks. Was just curious to see what lengths people ride compared to their height. I do like my frame as it rides nice and flicky.
