Blake
Basically I am looking to buy a zoo python some time this week and was wondering if my headset from my 2007 t-pro would fit it, I think it's a standard headset and is made by onza. Is it just a case of taking the cups out and placing them in the new frame? will the both be the same size? thank you!!
ogre
think the t pro's had an internal headtube, stick a picture of your headtube on here...

SamKidney
07 T-Pro Frames definately use an integrated headset. Just had a look at one when I was out around town. You'l need to buy a new headset. Echo SL headsets are a decent price and are good quality. Edited November 6, 2011 by Echo Lite

Azarathal
Bitch that ain't cheap. Planet z on tartybikrs £10.69 posted bro. Better buy three then. Cheap componants, epecially those containing bearings will die really quickly.
Blake
The reviews on them are good, as long as it's well greased it will last a while, or long enough till I can afford a new one
Ali C
Better buy three then. Cheap componants, epecially those containing bearings will die really quickly. They're cheap because they're simple. The actual bearings are still good quality, so as long as you don't run it super loose and cane the races it should last for ages. dann2707
I pressed mine in with a vice with two blocks of wood either side to prevent damage. Pretty simple really. Or you could use a hammer with a block of wood. Make sure its.in fully and flush with the frame though.

Dave Anscombe
Block of wood and a hammer does the job for me
aener
If you get a slightly higher budget, Pig Pro DH's are AWESOME. I'm just about to replace mine that's had at least four years of abuse, and that's not even due to the bearings. The top cup's worn having been in about twelve different frames. Really great headset. Another vote for hammer and wood.
Blake
Do you use the wood to install the crown race? and how does it work?
SamKidney
The crown race sits on the top of your forks crown. It gives the lower set of bearings a smooth surface to run on, enabling your headset to last, keep your bars turning smoothly and keeping everything from wobbling around. I tend to just use a flat headed screw driver and hammer and gently tap the race all around till its fully seated at the base of your forks steerer tube Edited November 9, 2011 by Echo Lite
Blake
Oh right, what about pressing the cups into the frame?
SamKidney
As mentioned, a hammer and a block of hardwood will do the job. Make sure that the cups go in evenly, tapping the block around each side to make sure you dont flare your frames headtube. Ive found it helps to give the inside of the headtube a bit of grease as well as the area on the cups that will sit inside your frame. Just helps it along a little and will prevent problems removing it.
Blake
Okay what about removing headset cups?
SamKidney
I use a spark plug socket and hammer to get mine off. Large area to hit and a larger area to make contact with the Cup. Just hit the lip of the cup evenly (the lip inside the head tube) and out she pops
