Ali C
I can happily do 25 bicep curls on £35 Kg, and 120Kg bench for 15 reps, but Im in the Gym ALOT at school and ride when ever I can. That sounds like a lot, I don't have small arms and I could do 70kg 8 reps on the bench press, 25 reps with 35kg curls sounds like a lot too, if you are managing to do these then you need not worry about your strength at all! Azarathal
Isnt explosive power what you want in trials? High weight, low reps? Il do it in stages, typically 20 reps on each type of muscle work out, 20 lat pull downs, 20 bench press, 20 bicep curls and so on. I'l work my way up by 5 kg each time until Ive fully warmed up. Im 16, my wrists click to f**kery. I suppose its all down to build. I can happily do 25 bicep curls on 25 Kg, and 120Kg bench for 15 reps, but Im in the Gym ALOT at school and ride when ever I can. Its been mentioned that powerballs are really good for wrist exercises. Ive used them and my wrists are stronger and my fore arms are stupidly toned. Editt: Typoooo My squat weight is 120kg, that sounds a hell of a lot for a 16 year old to be benching, got any proof of this amazing feat of strength? Ali C
are you letting the bar down to your chest and lifting from there or are you going halfway and using the "bounce" to help get it up? From looking at you I just can't picture it.
JD™
Not calling you out, but my school gym used to use those plastic weights that are filled with sand to make up the weight... Except they were battered and clearly only had about 3/4s sand in tops. Many an annoyed young man went into a decent gym and wondered why they couldn't squat 500kg on some 'real' weights. Couldn't care less though... Edited November 1, 2011 by JD™

From looking at you I just can't picture it. I found his facebook and he doesnt look like he could deadlift 120kg let alone bench. Still, I've seen some skinny as f**k no muscle lads push some decent weights so it could infact be truth.

JD™
Between 65-75 kg depending on the scales im on. You vary between 1 and a half stone on different scales?! That's like my height, sometimes I'm 5'10, and sometimes I'm 6'5. Depends on whether I'm using a real tape measure or the TF one. Get real.

Duncy H
25kg for 15 reps, 120 for 15 reps bench. I find it amusing to see people in or from the gym saying "I can do so much silly amount of weight on some exercise" and when actually watching it is no suprise as they would be doing the exercise so wrong. I'm sorry but if you are benching 120kg, even on a bar then it is being done majorly wrong or you might have pecs that slap people across the face when you turn round. But on topic, I've been riding for a fair while now. I don't particularly get wrist pains, only from where i broke my wrist or when i haven't rode for a long time but that doesn't really count. As said playing around with bar angle and lever angles might help. A pic of your current set up would help a lot
Topsy
My wrists only get f**ked up after I fall on them. Not sure what I do wrong. usually can't use them for 2 days afterwards.. They also klick, can feel it, but it doesent hurt. Wrist pains can basicly also be caused by your computer keyboard & mouse..

(Don't worry im only joking) On subject, I only have the occasional wrist pain but that is usually down to landing a front wheel move wrong, I do not run my bars facing down though...
