Weebs
I want to change to a 19T on the back but can't get past the lock ring. I don't have the money to buy the tool and don't have a shop to do it for me. Any ways to take it off without the tool?

davidbarr
I do indeed Could probably just clamp your wheel in the vice by the lockring then turn the wheel to get the lockring off. Don't know how careful you'd have to be though..

Thanks

Thanks I managed to use a vice to tighten mine on today, so i reckon it's possible. But yeah, it could quite easily slip out

err
you'll need some way of turning the cassette body to loosen it, you want a chain whip really to wrap around the sprocket
