JT!
It's been freakishly warm over here, it has snowed but non lasted on the ground. Unusual not to have snow on the ground this late into November.

piperfraz
Never really thought of skiing Scotland but is it worth it for a long weekend or something? Yeah, Cairngorm's awesome, and is only 10 minutes away from Aviemore (regular buses). Obviously check what the snows doing and that but you shouldn't regret it! Greetings
It'd be understandable if this thread was meant to talk people who have recently spotted snow out of suicide. But you people are getting quite horny over this white garbage.

But you people are getting quite horny over this white garbage. you dont understand the novelty of snow to us folk, you see it as a pain, i see it as a reason to pile 4 up in the beemer, complete with snowboards and skis hanging out the window, and drive sideways to the nearest deserted hill, build a lil jump and hike up and ski down it all day falling our ass repeatedly.

Luke Rainbird
Praying for a miracle dump of powder in Courchevel in the next 3 weeks. If only.
Fish-Finger-er
Praying for a miracle dump of powder in Courchevel in the next 3 weeks. If only. watching a few weather outlook threads as everywhere this side of the atlantic is looking a little green at the moment, and im hopefully going somewhere in 5 or 6 weeks. but temperatures have dropped the last couple of days, freezing level is now reasonably low. supposedly chance of snowfall sunday night and tuesday. although the chances of a half metre dump arent looking that likely right now. but who knows. Luke Rainbird
Yeah, the way it's been looking for the past week or two I've been looking more into hiring a DH rig than a board, but there's a light dusting at the mo and increasingly more to come to should be bearable at least. A fresh drop of a few feet would be far too excellent though. White Christmas and all that jazz.
Fish-Finger-er
thing is, its not much worse than previous years in a lot of places, its just because there was heavy snowfall in october, which has now gone, people have got a bit worried. was reading a thread on meribel, and one person whos lived there, has said the earliest they ever ski'd the lower runs has been like the 15th november. so there 2 weeks late at the moment, but its literally just a case of waiting for the first 15cm dump. we went to bulgaria last season, and it was whack. all the snow was man made up about 2100m. was literally nothing skiable in the trees. Really gets you in the mood to say f*ck it and just go canada.
