manuel
the D3100s not got the manual controls required really... If you want to shoot video on DSLR you may as well do it properly - half arsed will be annoying.

Mark W
If you can stretch to it, something like the 550D is pretty bangin'.
MadManMike
Don't buy the D3100 for it's video. I have it, it takes lovely photos with a decent lens, but the video is SHIT. Google it for more info, but I really, really would advise against it. "FULL HD 1080P, ULTRA SUPER GREAT VIDEO FILMING MODE" - Yeah, great, so I get 1080p of grainy, noisy crap. I may be over reacting slightly, but don't expect much.

TrialsMan Dan
Im attracted to the new Sony A35, I currently use an A200 and I'm drawn into the A35's full HD video mode anyone got any experience of these or the similar A33? Looking to do loads of filming next year.
chrishayton
Marks on the money. 550d is the best bet. Plus you can adapt loads of manual focus lenses to it cheaply (pentax, olympus, nikon, m42 etc)
