Azarathal
The drill approach might be better. I am a power tool kinda guy but with something as delicate as taking out a skinny bit of metal with a angle grinder doesn't sound appealing to me. Any links on the small diamond disc for a drill? Currently at work and using my phone so I can't search it until later
JD™
I don't see why it would take ages with a dremel... The cutting discs I've got in a 100 accessory kit are super fast through anything I've tried!
Azarathal
In which case JD would you be able to recommend a dremmel + attachments (cutting disc + filing attachment) for about £30? Assuming those are the only attachments I'll need.
JD™
The one I bought was the dremel 3000 which comes with a few cuttings discs and filing attachments. It cost £50 but I'm sure you could get it cheaper online - it seemed to be the best balance between versitality and cost.

Have you tried it on rim?Because it DOES take ages to cut with 2types of cutting discs and I can´t imagine it wouldn´t with any kind of disc. JD™
Nah, if I wanted a single walled rim I'd buy one. But it did cut through a decent length piece of steel pipe, lengthways, in no time at all.

N.Wood
I did mine with a grinder, was fine, did get the odd phantom puncture but then I get that with a factory single wall rim too so who knows. I wasn't particularly careful and I didn't burn through the box section or anything, you gotta do pretty well to f**k it up.

But that's one hell of a holey argument to put forward. Then again, I'm aware that you like to debate without facts. I'm not that into that, so I'll just quit while I'm most definitely ahead. ghostrider88
So dremmel, yay or nay? If you have few hours of spare time and are willing to buy at least five cutting discs for dremmel, yes. If you wanna do it fast,go with hacksaw with new blade and file,it can be done in 1 hour maybe even little less, but you would be dead after finishing it.
