Carl Hopps - Session One

Me and my friend got together on Sunday in Leeds with some hefty camera equipment with the aim of making something really nice and crisp!

Its the first time he has done this type of video and the first Ive done on the Inspired so wasn't sure how smooth it would go but it was great to work together.

I'm really happy with the results. Hopefully we can do more together in the future, maybe soon :shifty: if my spine recovers from that fall >_<

That was really cool.

Normally I'm not a big fan of having loads of slomo in a vid, let alone the whole bloody thing, but with the dreamy swirly kinda music and fluid riding it worked better than most.

Decent quality vid, top notch edit and some sweet riding - what more could you need?! Particularly like the wallride round the dead pigeon :P

Nice one dude :)

CrackIn' vid, really relaxing to watch. Always appreciate the artsy vids but I'll never back down on wanting just a slightly higher percentage of riding.

It's great to watch a rider that has a permanent smile on their face! Should come and ride Manchester some time (when it's dry, if ever)

At first i mis read the title thinking you meant you was riding brakeless trials inside your housetongue.gif

I enjoyed it you seem to look asif you and the 24 are getting along real well.

I love videos with video quality like yours... What camera is it btw?

Keep it up

Andy

Love the vid, but I can't help but say what's the point in wearing your helmet if it's just gonna fall off your head when you stack?! That fall from the tree made me cringe >_<

I'm not sure why It was loose. Maybe I loosened it between spots and forgot to tighten it back up >_< I don't usually wear it like that. Glad you like the vid!

I do wish the Arty shots had better riding in them but I've only just started to learn the streety moves. I hope the more trialsy bits make up for it ^_^

After the Red bull event I definatly want to hit Manc again when its dry. We only rode under the motorway on some kicker for 4 hours before the event which was fun but it would have been nice to see some more of what Manchester has to offer!

He used a canon 7d with a variety of lenses on a slider

The tree crash looked pretty bad, you actually bounced

Its still hurting now :( I kinda knew I'd fall out of it a lot before I made the line I wanted. It was just unlucky it was that bad  The grass was too wet and long so I lost bags of speed as soon as I stopped pedaling.

Thanks for all the comments! (Y)

Also HERE is my friends youtube channel if you fancy checking out what else he is involved with!

Nice sly dig haha

Anyway, that was pretty sweet Carl, brakeless is tough so you get plenty of respect from me, you are riding it well! That tree ride crash was harsh! The actual line is amazing though, you need to get it done.

The only things I didn't like was everything in slow mo, it has it's place, but I would have liked to have seen a couple of normal clips, but it's not the end of the world, I still enjoyed it. Also, it may be worth learning to spin regular rather than goofy, it will just help loads when it comes to linking things together.

Can you show me around Leeds one day? I have always wanted to ride at some of those spots but never known where they are.

I like it in this vid (probably because its me) but I totally understand why people don't like too much slow mo. Well take that on board for the next vid.

I can do it both ways if its a rolling spin but if I have to kick into it my body just seems to spin goofy better. I do want to get it the right way though. It looks a lot better.

I'd be happy to show you round. Leeds has a lot more to offer than what you see in most videos and the spots we went to earlier in the year when you filmed your spring brakeless vid. Me and Flipp have Sunday, Monday and Wednesdays off.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
