Luke Rainbird
<obvious answer> Use the opportunity to get a decent browser on there </obvious answer> Probably worth reinstalling it in the meantime though, at the very least Edit; That'll teach me for opening tabs and replying without refreshing
Muel
Reinstalling IE is a right fag though. Just install Firefox. (Or Chrome, Opera or Safari).
Little Yoshi
THe most iknow about computers is that you turn them on and off. Thats about it. Where can I get ff or ie?
Luke Rainbird
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Turn Windows Features On/Off. Uncheck it, apply. Recheck it, apply. Simple reinstall for IE. For Firefox/Chrome etc, just Google it and it'll be the first link and the better option

anzo
Alright saying 'Install Firefox', which I would also recommend anyway, however it doesn't really solve the problem? IE is shutting down when opened, this isn't normal for any web browser, and the possibility of malware being present is the bigger issue than what browser shes using? Might not be anything major, but could be doing some nasty things in the background. Initially, I'd suggest a decent malware scanner, full scan, update security patches, reinstall IE and see what happens from there. Firefox may well bypass the issue, but its not solving what is causing it.
Luke Rainbird
Seems the appropriate place rfor this Seems the appropriate place for this, while people are wondering which to go for; Far from perfect, but gives a vague idea for your average user. Muel
That image is ancient though. Firefox 3.6 has gone to and 7.0 now, IE is now IE9, Chrome has gone from 3.0 to 12.0, and so on. This isn't a browser war thread anyway, it's a "get any real browser" thread.
