LukasMcNeal
Yeah so I just dropped my phone on concrete and the screen has cracked all over. Thinking of just buying a front assembly and doing it myself, anyone fixed theirs before?
Luke Rainbird
Yep, piece of piss. I've done several 3G and 3Gs' with no problems. It's one of the easiest things to fix/replace with dozens of guides online to help you through it Edit; I've not done a 4 yet, which I think is a little more tech, but still very doable. Luke Dunstan
Yeah so I just dropped my phone on concrete and the screen has cracked all over. Luke Rainbird
What's actually broken? If it's the glass (digitizer) and the LCD then that's a pretty easy way of doing it. If it's just one or the other (most likely just the glass rather than just the LCD, but not unheard of) then you can pick them up separately too. That link you posted has additional stuff like the home button, earpiece etc which you can reuse from your phone if you'd prefer to save a few quid, but buying the assembly will save a fair bit of time/thought Edit; Any guide should do the trick really. In essence though, it's pretty straightforward to do without one. - Undo the two tiny screws at the bottom next to the dock connector. - Hinge up screen. There are 3 ribbon cables at the top end of the screen joining it to the body so don't pull this end out yet. - Undo the 3 ribbons (one has a folding latch, careful not to break it) That's to take it out, just the reverse to refit
