JD™
Hi all, TF is usually quicker/more accurate than picking through a million google results. I'm going to be moving from Croydon to closer to my office, hopefully before the end of the month (SNOW BE ON IT'S WAY!!!1!1!!). Anyone got any experience with renting a decent sized van for a day while being under 25? Another thought on the same lines, is it worth letting the hire company know I'm 25 in November anyway to see whether they might be lenient with the ridiculous premium they seem to put on for being a year younger? Cheers
eddbmxdude
Theres no such thing as cheap van rental if you're under 25. I had to hire a van to haul the Voodoo Unicycles rig around before I got a car big enough to fit it in. None of the big name hirers would touch me, I had to find a local independent hire company and get friendly with the owner. Even then it was £75 per day for a standard transit van plus £9.50 per day insurance.

Ah well, slightly illegal route for the win unless anyone else knows any different?
Fish-Finger-er
erm kinda, depends on your insurance company, amongst other things. our local ford commericals garage(not suggesting you use them, its a bit of a trek) hires out connect vans at £65, and transit vans at £95 a week(other terms available), providing you provide your own insurance(now if the van is hired out already your fecked, as priority goes to people paying £60 an hour to get their vehicle fixed, if not anyone can make use of the service) then it just depends how much your insurance company would want to insure the van for the day over your car. Now we're talking potential... I'll get on the phone to local garages and my insurer. Cheers mate
