dannytrialskid
Yo, There are no reviews on the Tartybikes website for the Echo TR disc brake, so just wondering if you have one or had one, what was it like? Thanks, Danny.

Bigman
Mark Beat me too it, they aren't made by Hope. I have one on my Echo 24, I was initialy unsure as to what it would be like, but I have been plesently surprised this weekend after some proper rides on it, it was holding on some fairly hefty front wheel gaps! I will soon be bleeding a shimano disc brake lever onto it which should improve it more, I will report back once its done. Adam
Greetings
Hold on 26" bikes with 180mm rotor isn't perfect. It's okay but will slip on bigger front wheel gaps. I couldn't get mine to hold on a 8ft frenchie without placing the front wheel on the edge of the obstacle. Good on 24" with 180mm rotor. Very good hold on 20" bikes on front and rear. It looks like Echo should make a 203mm version for stock bikes, then it'd be great. Overall it's a good brake altough if money was no obstacle, I'd get a Hope. Mark W
Yeah, it doesn't make much sense to me that more stock forks don't come with a +20mm mount as standard. A 160mm on the front of a 26" is toss, so why not make the 180 a 'standard' for the front, with a 200/203mm front as an easily upgradable option without having to start adding adaptors into the mix? If you're using the standard rotor, they seem to take a long time to bed in so if you go for one and find it's not great at first then that'll be why. Bigman
I will have a new review of my brake this weekend, I have just finished fitting a cheap shimano disc lever to the echo caliper! Initial play outside shows good potential!!! Adam

Yeah found that too. They take absolutely ages to bed in compared to Avids or Hopes even using water.
