Ot: Gloves

Hiya,

I've been looking around at gloves and i wanna know if it comes down to 661 for durability, comfort and value. People have mentioned Fox Racing gloves don't actually last very long. I have spotted some Monty gloves i like, but will they be like the grips and last a few weeks.

What about comfort does anyone have any suggestions on comfort i.e can your skin breath (quite important to me). I Don't wanna buy a set that are gonna cut of circulation or rub more then not wearing them!

I have the correct sizing for my hands but do people buy gloves a size up sometimes like shoes. (doesn't make sense but nor do a lot of people)

Like i say i don't know and don't wanna waste money on gloves...

I had a pair of Odyssey's power BMX gloves and loved them so much that I bought another pair, they're so comfortable. They also have a little bit more material around the fingertips which always helps, and the palm of the glove has small padding so it's comfortable but it's not overdone like some road/mtb gloves. It also has a snotwipe along the thumb haha.

I seriously recommend these... As soon as the gloves I'm using at the moment wear out (I bought them for their looks (these) I'm getting a pair of Odyssey's again.

From my experience with gloves (including 661, royal and raceface), The ones that stand out on top of confort, durability and value was by far troy lee designs XC gloves. I haven't come across a better pair of gloves yet.

What he said, troy lee design xc gloved are awesome, i don't use them for bike trials but i do for moto trials and i can't fault them!

Go any try some on.

I found Hebos to be the best, some people like thicker gloves, some thinner. Try some for yourself.

I have been trying them on but im sure some gloves will feel ace when you try them on, but not be ace for riding. Thats what i wanna avoid.

NO! You want the glove to be a close fit but obviously not so tight it limits movement of your fingers. I also find that over time gloves loosen up anyway so you definitely do not want to buy a larger size to start with!

I have been using 661 Raji's for years, they have a really thin palm and no padding on the back of the hand so are really breathable. I always keep an eye out on CRC for last years model in the sales and get them for around £10 a pair. They do get holes in them but I have no issues with sewing them up and have found that all gloves will get holes in them anyway. The last pair of Troy Lee gloves I bought were three times the price and fell to pieces within a few months!
